Areas of Expertise - IVC-SEP
The IVC-SEP is specialized in theoretical and experimental studies on applied thermodynamics, relevant to the problems of petroleum and chemical engineering.
Among the activities of the Center there are the studies and applications of different equations of state, thermodynamics of hydrocarbon mixtures, modeling of the transport properties, problems of fluid characterization, thermodynamics of heavy hydrocarbon fractions and gas hydrates, of electrolyte mixtures, of associating fluids, surface thermodynamics (adsorption and capillary forces), computational thermodynamics.
We also study transport in porous media, especially, as related to the enhanced oil recovery processes, such as gas injection, in situ combustion and others. Our studies involve both analytical modeling and numerical simulations of the enhanced oil recovery processes. Detailed information about our Center may be found on our Internet site www.ivc-sep.kt.dtu.dk
Areas of Expertise - E&R
Hydrocarbon and Mineral Resources at E&R DTU covers aspects of hydrocarbon reservoir evaluation as well geological preconditions for the localization and quality of hydrocarbon reservoirs.
It also covers evaluation of mineral deposits with special regard to sulphide mineral equilibria. Research is performed nationally and internationally in collaboration with universities, research institutes, and industry.
The main research topics are:
- Properties of Chalk with reference to porosity, strength, and pore fill.
- Properties of Sandstone Reservoirs as a result of depositional and diagenetic processes.
- Minerals and Mineral Deposits including experimental studies on sulphosalts, platinum metal sulphides, and selenides.
