Summer University

Each summer, DTU Chemical Engineering teaches a four week summer course for international students.

Our Summer University offers an ambitious and unique program with exercises within a wide range of unit operations at our pilot plant. We wish to show the possibilities and limitations of the theory and achieve practical experience and improved understanding of the processes by performing experiments in semi-technical and technical scale with process equipment, which is used in the chemical, biochemical and pharmaceutical industry.

Learning Philosophy

Our goal is to put students in situations similar to what can be expected in real industrial life and by working in our pilot plant you are as close to working with real life facilities as it is possible at a university.

As a summer university student you will update your theoretical plant and process knowledge through the experiments, plan your work, take the necessary process decisions including safety measures, control and react upon events, search information and write industrial reports - all in all act and think as a real process engineer.
