On 24 January, we celebrated another major milestone with the topping-out ceremony of Building 228A, which will house both educational and research facilities.

Eight months ago, we broke ground for our new building. On 24 January, we celebrated another major milestone with the topping-out ceremony of Building 228A. This project has come a long way in a short time, and soon we will be able to utilize all the new facilities in the building – both for research and education.

Despite the freezing temperatures, there was a warm atmosphere when the speeches were given by the CAS project manager, the head of the architects and the head of the entrepreneur team in front of the many attendees from both DTU Chemical Engineering and the many people working on the building.

The buildings of today offer many possibilities

The new building will consist of laboratories, offices, a lounge, as well as an expansion of the existing pilot hall – all carefully placed throughout the 6,000 m2 of space. Here, both students and researchers will be able to perform experiments on different scales while also engaging in learning environments. These facilities will make it possible to develop tomorrow’s research-based solutions within particle technology, coating production, fermentation based manufacturing, and many more.

We look forward to 2020 when the building will be inaugurated and DTU Chemical Engineering can strengthen our mission to develop ambitious solutions for the future with facilities that match our ambitions.
