About DFM A/S

DFM is Denmark's National Metrology Institute and is for among other things responsible for a number of the primary standards which the Danish industry and Danish authorities base their measurements upon. DFM is one of 7 Danish GTS institutes, and is a fully owned subsidiary of DTU. Read more about DFM A/S and thermometry at www.dfm.dk.

For more than 50 years, ‘Termometrilaboratoriet’ (the Thermometry Laboratory) at DTU Risø has calibrated temperature measuring equipment, first for experimental setups at Risø, then for the pharmaceutical and food industry. As of 1 March 2018, DFM A/S will take over the laboratory at DTU Risø.

Since 1978, 'Termometrilaboratoriet'  (Thermometry Laboratory) has been one of the leading providers of accredited calibration services within contact thermometry in Denmark. The laboratory's activities will continue unchanged at Risø until 1 March 2019, after which the activities will be moved to DFM's facility at Kogle Alle 5 in Hørsholm.

“Termometrilaboratoriet is known to deliver high quality services, and DFM is proud to be able to strengthen and further develop its activities in close cooperation with the laboratory's skilled employees," says Michael Kjær, CEO of DFM A/S.

Michael Kjær continues: "DFM is the leading provider of advanced metrological services in Denmark, and the acquisition increases our range of services and offers even better opportunities to support our customers in the future."

Kim Dam-Johansen, Professor and Head of Department, says: "'Termometrilaboratoriet' has been part of DTU Chemical Engineering since 2012. I am impressed by the employees' ability to drive efficient calibration activity with a high level of service and quality. The department has assessed that 'Termometrilaboratoriet 'will be able to develop significantly under DFM, and we will therefore transfer the calibration activities to DFM and establish close collaboration between DFM and DTU Chemical Engineering."
