Three Week Summer University Course

At DTU Chemical Engineering we offer a three week summer course in Chemical and Biochemical Unit Operations Laboratory.(This is equivalent to the standard DTU course 28122)

The course objective is to provide students with an experience as close as possible to practical industrial conditions and equipment. We work in our 600-700 m2 pilot plant - a unit operation laboratory comprising of four halls of large-scale facilities. 

Over the course of three weeks, students will have the opportunity to perform exercises in: Liquid flow in pipes, gas flow in pipes, pump systems, flow in packed columns, filtration, drying in a tunnel, spray drying, fluidization and fluidized bed drying, distillation, absorption, membrane separation, ion exchange, heat exchanging, evaporation, crystallization, agitation, aeration, separation in a disc centrifuge, hydrocyclone separation, solid and liquid extraction, solids handling, high temperature processes and organic synthesis.
