PhD Student for Nilfisk - Soil Detachment

Right now, we are looking for an Industrial PhD Student to conduct research within the field of Soil Detachment.  

The results of the project are major contributors to the Nilfisk vision of leading the professional market by supplying the best products. The project will have close cooperation with the Nilfisk R&D community in Connected Autonomous Solutions.  

The purpose of this PhD is to develop a model for the detachment of different types of particles from different types of surfaces. The model will be used to identify the best strategy for detachment in an actual cleaning process and thus to design the best performing cleaning machine.  

The content of the project includes:

  • Establish a set-up for analysis of detachment
  • Experimental and theoretical analysis of detachment
  • Establish a strategy to overcome the detachment forces
Qualifications  
You should have a master’s degree in Chemical or biochemical engineering or similar. Knowledge of hydrodynamic, surface and colloid chemistry and experiences with microfluidics and CFD are strong advantages.  

Approval and enrolment  
The PhD degree is subject to academic approval and the candidate and will be enrolled in the Chemical and Biochemical Ph.D. programme at DTU.

Salary and appointment terms  
The PhD project has a duration of 3 years, but Nilfisk offers you a permanent position with an attractive salary.
