DTU Chemical Engineering seeks qualified candidates for a number of vacant PhD positions and a postdoc position within the core research areas of chemical and biochemical engineering, such as: 

  • Bio-based processes
  • Process system engineering
  • High temperature processes
  • Catalysis
  • Coating science and technology

Responsibilities and tasks
The positions are part of the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research (SDC). The research will be within the core fields of chemical and biochemical engineering, and should support our SDC MSc education in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and the research collaboration in the framework of SDC. The candidates will stay in China for 6-12 months, to support the MSc courses in SDC and to carry out research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Knowledge of Danish is highly beneficial for the positions. Research areas of interests must be stated in the application.

Qualifications
Candidates for the PhD scholarships should have a master's degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree in engineering.

Candidates for the Postdoc position should have a PhD degree or equivalent.

Approval and enrolment of PhD Students
The scholarship for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. For information about the general requirements for enrolment and the general planning of the scholarship studies, please see the DTU PhD Guide.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.

The period of employment for the PhD position is 3 years.

The period of employment for the Postdoc position is 1-2 years.
