DTU project receives DKK 60 million grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation

The Novo Nordisk Foundation has granted DKK 60 million to a DTU-led project that aims to investigate so-called heterogeneity in gas fermentation across different scales.

  • The official project title is ’Model-based heterogeneity assessment in gas fermentation (MORE-GAS)’.
  • The Novo Nordisk Foundation has granted the project DKK 60 million over the next 6 years, with the project beginning on 1 January 2026.
  • The project is a collaboration between three researchers, two of whom are from DTU: Krist V. Gernaey, DTU Chemical Engineering, Jochen Förster, DTU Biosustain, and Ralf Takors, University of Stuttgart.
  • The project collaborates with Uniobio A/S for data collection in the pilot plant.
