On Wednesday, seven outstanding educators will receive the national Teaching Award at a ceremony held at the Copenhagen Opera House – and among them was Professor Ulrich Krühne from DTU Chemical and Biochemal Engineering!
Ulrich is honored for his exceptional ability to combine academic excellence with presence, relevance, and a talent for engaging students.
Ulrich says: "To me, teaching is about creating a space where it feels safe to learn and where making mistakes is allowed. As a researcher, I know that errors are a necessary part of the scientific process. Students need to learn how to ask questions, identify sources of error, and be critical—both of others’ practices and their own."
The award was presented by Minister for Higher Education and Science Christina Egelund, and includes a DKK 500,000 grant, of which DKK 300,000 is earmarked for further development of Ulrich’s already cutting-edge teaching.
The Teaching Award is given to educators at Denmark’s higher education institutions who succeed in inspiring and motivating their students in ways that truly make a difference.
Ulrich was also awarded DTU's teaching prize in 2024.
