Carbon Capture plant moves to Romania

After four months at Aalborg Portland, Assoc. Professor Philip Loldrup Fosbøl and his team is moving its carbon capture unit to OMV Petrom's Petrobrazi refinery where it will rund long-term test cycles focusing on solvent stability. At Aalborg Portland, the plant tested a new technology that can reduce the energy consumption in CO2 capture.

The pilot plant for CO2 capture has been built under the auspices of the EU-supported project collaboration ConsenCUS led Philip Loldrup Fosbøl and consisting of a number of international research institutions and companies. With the plant, a new technology within CO2 capture is tested that among other things can potentially eliminate a significant part of the energy consumption in CO2 capture and ensure better utilization of the collected CO2.
