BIOPRO Campus 2017

BIOPRO World Talent Campus

Dear All

The organizing team of BIOPRO WTC 2020 has been following the recent COVID 19 pandemic closely. With the high likelihood of the current global travel restrictions being extended and effecting air travel in the foreseeable future, we have decided that organizing BIOPRO WTC 2020 in the month of August, is logistically infeasible.

Currently, we are evaluating the possibility of postponing the WTC towards the end of the year, we will update you as information becomes available.

Please share this information with colleagues from your lab/university who are looking forward to applying for WTC 2020.

BIOPRO WTC 2020 is sceduled to take place in the greater Copenhagen area in Denmark from Sunday November 22 to Friday November 27, 2020.
Due the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s campus will invite only students from European universities. BIOPRO WTC will only take place if COVID-19 continues to develop favorably. The campus organizers will follow the latest updates on the COVID-19 situation and possible travel restriction, and encourage all participants to stay updated on local guidance and requirements.

The application must include:
• 1 page - application letter including educational background and personal motivation
• 1 page - description of PhD project or Master thesis
• 1 page - faculty support letter
• Documentation of grades
• CV

WTC Organizing Team

Every year, we invite research talents from all over the world for a competition across disciplines.

The World Talent Campus is an advanced one week course at PhD level, where students will learn and be challenged with cutting edge knowledge within biotechnology manufacturing.

The course will focus on bioprocess monitoring and optimization, by addressing e.g. online measurement techniques, development and implementation of sensors in large-scale facilities, chemometrics as well as soft sensors based on mechanistic models.

The course will also include social events and team building activities in order to foster the creation of a global network.

25 PhD or Master students working in the field of biotechnology manufacturing, from 20 selected universities around the world, will participate.

BIOPRO is a research collaboration between the two Danish universities DTU and KU along with Novo Nordisk, Novozymes, DONG Energy, CP Kelco and Chr. Hansen – all leading biotech companies. Read more about BIOPRO
